Hi everyone. I am new to this method. I just went through the week 1 videos, and on the training schedule under running, it says '3 x 200' or '1 x 10k' and other similar terms. What do these terms mean? Thank you.
Training schedule question.
In short, each training day will require you to run select distances a certain number of times. Some days will be several repetitions of shorter distances, while other days may be one long distance. Anytime you see a number followed by 'x', it's notifying you of the number of times you will run the distance (taking a short break in between each run). Some examples are:
2 x 400 which means 400 meters, 2 times
1 x 10k which means 10 kilometers, 1 time
6 x 100 which means 100 meters, 6 times
2 x 1k which means 1 kilometer, 2 times
Let me know if you have any further questions about the layout of the scheduled training days.
Hello, what is the difference between numbers in brackets e.g. 4x200 (41.3 - 47.1) and 4x400 (1:31-1:44). I can assume the second example is time for a distance. Is it time for 4x400 or only for 1x400? what are the numbers in the first example?
Here is the breakdown of the two examples you provided in your questions:
4x200 (41.3 - 47.1) - You are instructed to run a distance of 200 meters, 4 times. Your goal for each run is to finished within a time range of 41.3 seconds and 47.1 seconds.
4x400 (1:31-1:44) - You are instructed to run a distance of 400 meters, 4 times. Your goal for each run is to finish within a time range of 1:31 and 1:44.
The time range given in parenthesis is referring to 1 attempt at that distance. Does this answer your question?
Thank you Ben. Now it is clear. 1:31 is 1 minute and 31 seconds. 41.3 is 41 seconds and 3 milliseconds - these numbers confuse me :)
Is there a preferred Video app for analyzing run technique?
Hi - there are 2 apps that most of our coaches use Coach's Eye - Video Analysis and Hudl Technique
Quick question, if we want to train 5 days per week Mon-Fri - what do you do on Day 4 & 5? Repeat exercises from that week or progress to the first two exercises of the next week?
Thanks in advance!
Jimmy, each program has a video that tells you how to modify programming to suit your needs.
Thank you! Can you tell me which video is it please? I’ve not been able to find it.
Here's an example from Marathon Training program https://posemethod.vhx.tv/12-week-marathon-prep-program/season:1/videos/1-6-training-schedule-overview Each series has a set of videos with training programming. Let me know if you have additional questions!
Perfect thank you!
